GCF Conformance Testing
Typically needed during development of new handsets or devices which incorporate bespoke or 3rd party protocol stacks to ensure conformance with GCF and PTCRB, for either continuous regression testing or prior to formal certification
We have long experience of getting many BlackBerry devices through pre-conformance testing during the development process. Validating the conformance of new 3GPP features and constructing automatic regression testing frameworks to monitor and log progress as development proceeds through baseband bring-up and stack development.
Carrier Acceptance Testing
Carriers have increasingly stringent requirements on new devices before they can be accepted on their live-air networks.
These typically extend the GCF testing to more real-world scenarios, test data throughput and application performance.
These test suites are being continually expanded and updated.
We have expertise in developing and debugging carrier acceptance tests. Also in debugging test failures and helping to identify root cause issues in the test specifications, in the test cases, as well as the devices under test.
Beyond Conformance Testing
Where special features are being implemented, maybe ahead of commercial roll-out of leading edge capabilities, bespoke test development can help in debugging new baseband features in a timely fashion.
GCF conformance does not guarantee problem-free operation on actual networks. Particular combinations of features can stress devices and networks.
We have real experience of deploying devices on live networks, and determining whether the conformance testing is insufficient. We have developed automated stress testing frameworks, that repeatedly cycle through typical operations encountered in the real-world networks.
